Anoushka Shankar
Anoushka Shankar is a British and American sitarist. She also plays music. She was first in her age group to be awarded an award from the British House of Commons Staff. Anoushka Shakar, a young rising singer on Indian Sitar is Anoushka. She is Ravi Shankar's student, and the daughter. She was born in London in 1982. She spent her early years shuttling from London in London and New Delhi. When she was only 13 the first time she performed in New Delhi took place. Then, in Encinitas CA she attended high school. She graduated with distinction in 1999. Anouskha continues to have a bright music and acting career, despite being young. She is often seen performing with her dad and has been doing so for many years. She made Anourag her first solo album in 1998. The Grammy-nominated Live at Carnegie Hall album was released in 2002. The stage work she has done is vast as she has been in every one of the world's major venues. Anoushka Shakar's talents are not just limited to music. In 2002, she released an autobiography titled Bapi The Love of My Live this is a picture-based biography, which pays special honor to her late father Ravi Shankar. Also, she has appeared in. in the 2003 movie Dance Like a Man, in which she played a Bharat Natyam dancer young girl. Her career continues to grow and she'll continue to accomplish many amazing things in the coming years. Anoushka Shankar is a British native who lived her early days between London, Delhi and California. In Delhi on his birthday, which was celebrated at the age of 75 she made her debut playing the sitar in front of an audience four years following her nine-year-old father. Alongside her father, they toured around the globe, Anoushka was able to accumulate a variety of experience performing in Carnegie Hall while still in her teens, performing in Peter Gabriel's WOMAD festival, and also recording alongside George Harrison. Her artistry and musicianship were recognised by British Parliament as being among the top at Asian Arts.
